The Gymnast
The crowd grows silent, the room grows dark, and suddenly, everything disappears.
All is not lost though, out of nowhere brightness comes, a single star in the middle of everything, standing alone.
At first all is still. The star floats motionlessly in the black sky.
And then, all of a sudden the star grows brighter and spins into motion.
It gleams and glitters and flips and flows, a flame through the air, a firework in the night sky.
The show hasn’t ended yet though, the star, the flame, the firework once again flip into motion. Gracefully breaking apart the darkness, bringing light to the black shadow of the evening.
All at once it ends, the flame of the night is extinguished and the blackness has returned, only to be once again broken up, but this time by the mountainous thunder of applaud.
