A Mirror
I stepped out onto the porch, white,
Glazed with water as a mirror to sky,
Half was blue, ripe, new,
Fluffy and bright and twinkling true.
And half was broken as clouds, black,
Unthinking, unwilling, ungrateful, cruel.
And just as my love, hates to love,
And just as my hate, loves to hate,
One side of the porch hates to love,
And the other loves to hate.
