Daddy
Dearest daddy I miss you so
Your absence fills me with woe
Don’t get me wrong I’m happy for you
And all the pain you no longer go through
Released from the toils of man
Gone to a place only angles can
But I miss you so much
I long for the touch
Of your scraggly beard on my face
No one could ever take your place
I’m tormented with grief
And the tears bring no relief
Life is so hard without you
I don’t know what I should do
I need you here to guide me
I only wish to see
What you think of who I’ve become
And if your praise I’ve won
We are so alike in so many a way
I think about you night and day
I see your face in my own
Our relation is clearly shown
From my curls and my height
To the books I read all night
Dearest daddy sadly I must go
But there is something I want you to know
And as the years pass since that cruel November
Your love for me I still remember
