Innocence
A word used often in many ways
But few realize what it truly means
Its much more easily taken then in the backseat of a car
It’s that moment when a child’s heart sis scarred for the first time
When they see the world for what it truly is
When they first experience true grief
That moment they feel true pain
You can see it in their eyes
When their gaze hardens
As if to protect them from what they might see
Innocence is the one thing we all have in common
We were all born with it
And it was will be stolen from us all
