awaitng a bullet to the head.
running over dead men,
both yours
and theirs.
FLASH!
now your back
in your room
gasping for breath.
FLASH!
Now your back in Vietnam,
dodging snipes,
tripping over gorilla holes,
one bullet barely grazing your ear...
FLASH!
you hypervinlate for air.
shakingly,
you reach up
to where your flashbacks recall.
your hand comes back bloody-
you scream.
you thought the battle was over,
but it seems the nightmare has just begun.
