The Perfect Age
Today my teacher asked us to write an assignment,
What would be the perfect age to die.
The perfect age to say goodbye for the last time.
The perfect age to tell the person I hurt, and confess
That I was wrong.
The perfect age to cry by myself alone in the dark,
after the friendly creatures have said goodnight,
and the monstrous dark ones come alive
to hunt for their vulnerable victims.
The perfect age to cover one's eyes and ears for an eternity.
The perfect age to lose my whole life goals and plans,
what I wished for and the dreams I dreamt,
even after my imagination has died.
The perfect age to stop inflicting
my criminal thoughts with others.
The perfect age to be all for once, forgiven and forgotten.
The perfect age to become perfect.
In my opinion, the perfect age may never come,
may come tomorrow, or right this moment.
The perfect age is just something
I'll just have to figure out one day in Heaven.
But as for now, Heaven can wait.
