Bare
Smooth but grainy
The blanket of sand.
You and me
Roar of the ocean
The caress of water,
Salty.
You and me:
Wild and foolish
Naïve,
Young and free.
The touch of winter,
Icy.
Slap of wind
Pink skin,
Rough.
A vast wonderland,
Untouched.
Hardened heart,
Lucid thought.
Just me.
You, worlds away
Sun hot on your face
Tan skin,
Perfection.
Worldly and sophisticated,
Debonair.
Amidst stimulating cosmopolitan bustle,
Alive.
A smile:
Au revoir, you say
But I just can’t seem to
Let you go.
