Down in the darkness
I stand
Beneath the dim streetlamp
My right arm outstretched
My hand reaching up to you
The snow falls lightly around me
In my other hand I carry my heart
Stained black with my sins

Fighting a senseless fight
Coated in flowing red pride
I refuse to fully needing you
Sighing I lean against the lamppost for support
A cold shiver runs through my spine
Only to be sucked in by my heart
As if it wasn’t cold enough already
I fall down the metal that rips open my back
My bones crushed between thick walls of greed and hate
My veins diminishing slowly, leaving black ash in my body
My breath comes out in quick wisps, leaving my prayers hanging in the air
My blood flows quicker and drips onto the snow
With each drop, the snow drinks in the black
Black spots form in my vision and I stare one last time at my heart
My last breath will not be wasted
Taking a shaky breath, I look up at the white and scream
