The day I learned to dance
That night was beautiful,
As we danced I never wanted to let go
You taught me to dance that night
Yet another little lesson from father to daughter
Like riding a bike or learning to speak
You told me to move in 1’s and 2’s
My feet moved in sequence with yours
And I realized I was dancing
What a marvelous sight this really was
And now to this day
When I dance, it reminds me of you
