Sinking
Once deprived of all hope, there is but one sensation
The soul consumed, dissolves into oblivion
While eyes empty like the distant black night sky
Following the skin’s motionless vow
Hands unconsciously reach into nothingness
For help, relief, anything
Returning home unmoved
The parched mouth silently screams
Devoid of even a single murmur
And so goes this slow detached descent
As the drowning sink lower below the wave
Unless lucky to break the surface
Their surroundings revitalized
Initially shocked, then stunned, and finally exhaling
