Getting rid of me
They say I took it all for granite
I say I took it under my wing
They say they gave me an inch and I stole every thing
I say I was just improving, that inch into a mile they’ll
Believe me it just takes awhile
They say, “You must be kidding”
I’m as serious as they get
They say get a life
I tell them I’m looking, haven’t found one yet
They say leave my city, I’m to blame
I say just a sec., just one more day
They’re getting rather hateful, torching my bed
I’m quite rather grateful, that thing was dead
They laugh at me
I tell no jokes
I continue to wonder what’s up with them folks’
