Waiting for Spring
I dig my toes into the soil.
It’s cool against my skin.
I run my hands amongst the plants
I relish the scent of tomato leaves
The sun is shining while a cool breeze blows
For a moment, I’m there in the springtime
But I open my eyes and shiver as I’m hit with a wintry blast.
I am cold, waiting for spring
