Am I not the same?
A human who breaths air.
A human who wants love.
Am I not the same?
I have a name.
I have dignity.
I deserve respect.
But I am denied.
Because…I am different.
My name means nothing.
But I am the same.
To all of you…I do not understand why…
We live on this planet earth.
The only life-sustaining planet in a vast universe.
There is only one human race.
So why are we demolishing each other as if we are only concrete statues?
But I stand strong like steel that will not rust, like a statue that crumbles to no thunder, until the end…I stand strong.

Learning about the stereotypes and descriminations that many minorities received throughout history was a major reason for the composition of this gernalizing poem.
