The end
The soft rain taps the ground
and runs down my skin
as I listen to him tell me
the words I never want to hear.
The world is empty and the sky is grey.
His words fade into a whisper
as the rain begins to roar.
The water pounds my face,
confusing my tears with
the rain soaking my wet skin.
I can't find the strength to breath,
or look into his sorry eyes.
His hand in mine,
as water fills his loose grip
and the space between us is
dripping with loss.
Slowly pulling away,
until all I'm grasping is the rain.
