The Game
I’m running, running, no one to pass to
A friend in the distance waves his arm
With all my strength i kick the ball very far
He stops it with his foot and moves slyly to the side
I run to the center of the field, listening to my heavy breaths one my one
There’s 20 seconds left i have to make this one count
I holler his name and he glances up
Surrounded by defenders, there was no where to go
He took a wild swing and the ball sailed up
Using every last bit of energy i jumped into the air
I hit the ball with my head and closed my eyes
The ball flew past the goalie and sunk into the net
The ref blew the whistle which caught me by surprise
The game was over and we had won
I slowly made my way off the field, heart beating fast
Everyone on my team was cheering and I smiled and laughed
