Respect
A normal day
is filled with many spills,
some accidental, some not.
The shattering of a beer bottle
against the brick wall,
or the accidental
spill of milk.
But
as the day progresses,
you cannot deny
that there are many spills,
and they are dried up
with towels.
Yielding,
Absorbant.
The towel sits on the rod
Waiting.
Until it is needed.
It dries up the spill, and saves the day.
A valiant hero.
But towels know
which spills to clean,
Which ones to respect.
For the more a towel dries,
the wetter it gets.
So, just in case there are any spills today,
Keep a towel handy.

Yes, I know, the comparison was weird to me as well. Well, when it first occured to me. But I think the main thing that ties a towel and respect together is that the more a towel dries, dries OTHERS, the wetter it gets. And it's the same for respect... respect others, you'll be respected.
Thanks for cdommenting! I'll be sure to check out your stuff :)
