Memories of You
My jacket you use to wear
Still sits
Folded up in my closet
I pick it up sometimes
And hold it my nose
Your sweet sent still lingers
And for a few seconds
It’s as if I have you in my arms once more
I think of your beautiful smile
As I try to hold back tears of
heartache
Memories of your perfection
Come flooding back to me
Your long wavy hair
Hiding that pretty face
My fingers gently push it away
When I leaned in to kiss you
Your lips soft and sweet
Press against mine
While we stand on your porch
Not wanting to say goodbye
Your gentle green eyes
Could always see threw
My acts of anger and solace
You’d comfort me
when no one else could
Your long slender legs
Smooth and elegant
Get tickled by my fingers
As they gently move across
The sound of your voice
Unique in every way
Still echoes in my head
With the words “I love you too”
But now all I have left
Is this jacket to remind me
Of the times we once shared
And makes me wonder
of the times we could’ve shared
