To the moon
Flip, flop.
Fluff my pillow just right.
I drift to sleep not realizing it.
Get that belt tight.
We’re off to the moon,
At least that’s what I thought.
Tip, tap.
I wake up to the smell of cherry lemonade.
Soon I arise from where I sleep.
I look outside at the bright sun,
It smiles at me, saying hello.
When I look to the north,
What do I see?
A spaceship taking off,
My parents say goodbye to me.
I wave, confused but cheerful too.
I have the house to myself,
It’s time to watch my cartoons.
