A certain look
That doesn’t make
One wonder
What’s truly happening
On the inside?
Is it the
Plainly seen
Innocence?
Its frailty?
It’s the look
That screams:
“Save me
From this prison”
The pleas are ignored
Can’t they see
The obvious pain
In that fragile
Expression
No
For
The pain,
The anguish
Is easily hidden
By a small,
Simple
Smile
