Her shadow, His hands
There
In her shadow
She stood
Wondering about tomorrow
Because tomorrow
Was not her friend
No
Tomorrow
Was her enemy
There
In his hands
He stood
Holding himself out to the world
Because the world
Was all he had
If they wanted him
Then what else
Did he
Need?
There
Quivering in her shadow
She contemplated
Tomorrow
And the dark that was sure
To come
There
Reaching out from his hands
Desperately displaying
Bravado
For a crowd engulfed
In shadows
There
Still shaking in her shadow
Was where she first saw
Him
And his hands reaching for everyone
There
Looking for everyone
Not someone
He found a someone anyway
In Her
There
Was Where
She first stepped from
Her shadow
He showed her that
Light was of
Today
There
Was where
She became his everyone
All the audience he needed
Because she took his hands
In hers
