Midnight Fire
Dark, lonely midnight!
Oh, fiendish fire finds
the shattered glass remains,
unhindered by cloth blinds
it trickles in, in veins
of ghastly burning strands,
clutching velvet clothes,
like evil, grasping hands,
raging, as it goes,
a tempest through the room
shattering sought peace
and turns into a tomb,
without chance of release,
the chambers of a girl
deep in a peaceful sleep
the flames quickly unfurl
her soul the lord will keep.
