A Thousand Miles
I keep walking, quickening my pace
As the sun falls behind the skyline.
   Making my way downtown
   Walking fast
    Faces past
   And I’m homebound.
The contours of the citizens moving past me blur,
 I can’t find a familiar face.
 Staring blankly around
   Just making my way
   Making a way
   Through the crowd.
 You said you’d be here,
Here where even the air holds memories.
   And I need you,
   And I miss you,
   And now I wonder…
It seems like it’s been forever since we’ve last seen each other,
And I can’t help but wonder how you’ve changed.
   If I could fall
    into the sky
    do you think time
    would pass me by.
  I’ve been so far,
 been through so much.
   ‘Cause you know I’d walk
   A thousand miles
If I could just see you
   Tonight.
 I check my watch again,
Biting my lip as I dream of you.
   It’s always times like these
   When I think of you
   And I wonder
   If you ever
   Think of me.
 Reminiscing as I keep trudging
 Through the dank, grey slush.
   ‘Cause everything’s so wrong
   and I don’t belong
   living in your
   precious memories
 I’m getting closer
 Closer to you-
   And I need you
   And I miss you
   And now I wonder…
 The sky is getting whiter
 As the land grows darker.
   If I could fall
   Into the sky
   Do you think time
   Would pass me by.
I pull my coat closer around me
Wishing it was your arms embracing me instead.
   ‘Cause you know I’d walk
   a thousand miles
   if I could
   just see you
   tonight.
 My heart is beating
To the tune of the time
 We spent together.
   And I, I
Don’t want to let you know
   I, I
   Drown in your memory
   I, I
Don’t want to let this go
   I, I
   Don’t…
 I’m almost there-
   Making my way downtown
   walking fast
   faces past
   and I’m homebound.
 Shoving against the stream-
 Staring blankly around
   just making my way
   making a way
   through the crowd.
The tears gather in my eyes-
   And I still need you
   And I still miss you
   And now I wonder…
As I get ever closer to you-
   If I could fall
   Into the sky
   Do you think time
   Would pass us by.
    ‘cause you know I’d walk
   a thousand miles
if I could just see you…
 And see your silouhette
   If I could fall
   Into the sky
   Do you think time
   Would pass me by
   'Cause you know I'd walk
   A thousand miles
   If I could
   Just see you
   If I could
   Just hold you
   Tonight
As I rush into your arms
 And everything’s alright again.
