This Girl
The girl didn't want to be cut open and bleeding, she didn't want false hope
She didn't want to keep believing, for something impossible
It's hard to keep faith in life and love, when the world's given you a shove
The girl tryed to tell herself maybe it's not meant to be?
But she didn't want to believe this either, because she wanted it to BE
She wanted to be upfront, swallow the pride and spit her heart on her sleeve
It's difficult
But the old her, it is gone
She knows it's time her light was shone
She can be, everything and more
Stand up and say 'this is who I am.'
Be at last self-sure
The girl is confident, she steps right up
Words will slip right off when she trusts her gut
It's the time to move on, the time to be strong
Time to stop pitying herself, there's bigger battles to be won
It's time for a change
She's starting here
It may seem small, but we cannot act to make the world better
Until we've defeated our own fear
