Favorite Quote:
Do not go where the path may lead, but go intsead here there is no path and leave a trail.

A single line stands,
Alone on the page;
A single man stands,
The only surviving soldier.
The ghosts always
Haunt, taunt.
Why didn’t you
Just finish me off?
Write the last line,
Kill the last soldier.
Finish the poem
With no title
Finish the war
With no victor!
There is no title,
There is no victor.
There is only the
Single line, the single soldier.
The soldier fights,
The poem standing, unwritten.
The poet fights the poem,
O! how the soldier
Is defeated!
The words were there,
But now

The author's comments:
I was reading The Poems I Have Not Written by John Brehm when I found inspiration in his words of wisdom. I remembered how I felt the same frustrations that he did. I then thought how we were like soldiers on the battle field, ready to fight, prepared to lose.

I love this poem! I think many poets can relate to this poem writing frustration, and the poem explains it perfectly!
