Carving My Place into Society
My lips are moving,
 But no sound comes out.
Or maybe my voice falls upon deaf ears.
 I am screaming,
 Face red,
 Tear streaked,
 And lonely.
 Don’t you see?
 No, you can’t see me
So you can’t hear me either.
The way I scream out your name,
 Willing you to come back,
 To glance in my direction.
 Don’t you see?
I want you to notice me.
To see the effort I’ve put into life.
 To scream “I AM SOMEONE!”
 Someone worth listening to.
 Someone worth respecting.
