Small Things
It's those small things
That make me want to fly
Like the soft touch of hand
My family's warm embrace
Laughter in the air
Spreads a smile across my face
I hope I never forget
The moments like these.
Shadows on the ground
Footsteps in the rain
The smell of the flowers
Blossoming at home
And a peaceful summer sky
Make me stop and think a minute
About those small things in life.
I know I will remember
The whispers in the wind
Rustling through the trees
The top of a mountain
Reaching out to me
The secrets of the ocean
Heard through a shell
And I think about my loved ones
Being there for me.
