Devious
Your distance,
Is tearing me apart…
You walk one way,
And then the other…
But there’s no telling,
My abilities…
Could I perhaps follow you?
Into the night?
Down into the sea?
Where are you going?
Why are you leaving?
I am drawing conclusions,
Like dark-grey lines,
Settled on lead-trodden paper…
I wouldn’t dare get so close…
For fear you’d take me down again…
Deeper than the abyss,
That engulfs me now…
Drowning,
In a sea of nothing,
There’s nothing there,
And I am not going down…
I sit right here,
But can’t you see me?
I can’t keep up…
You’re swift,
Sweeping through the white night…
Snow,
Brighter than your nightshade eyes,
Cannot help me hide my curiosity…
I am a raindrop,
Falling from danger’s windshield…
I struggle to keep up;
It’s always something new
With you…
