The Subway
Roaring reverberates down the black tunnel
Screeches of a thousand owls accompanies
The yells draw in- and stop
Blaring honks whiz past me
The flapping of many wings surrounds me
Tongues of several dialects fly through the air
Rhythmic banging makes me want to stare
Yells of beggars and venders confuse it all
Though the loudest sound subdues it all
The strictest silence among strangers
It echoes through every part of the atmosphere
And yet no one seems to hear it but the foreigner
