Mark of the Wolf
One full moon
On hollows eve
I went to the graveyard
To stand and grieve
I place flowers down
On my dead uncles grave
Not knowing that soon
One may bear my name
A stranger walks toward me
I pay no mind
Until I look closer
See a wolf standing high
He looks straight out of a horror film
With fangs sharp as needles
And the mark of the wolf
Like you see in old fables
Slowly he stumbles
A man with the face of a wolf
And as he smells my flesh
I turn, too scared to bolt
The light of the moon
Shines down straight on it
He seems to become taller
And terribly fit
I back up quite slowly
Fangs form a bloody grin
As he creeps toward me
I tremble again
He leaps toward me
I jump out of the way
I run toward the house
Hoping this won’t be my last day
The creature trips on the way
Slams his head in the rock sitting by
He lets out a terrible scream
Black goo starts to fly
It appears to be blood
Looks more like tar
And while he is distraced
I run, run so far
