Golden light on tree and hill against a violet sky
reflecting off of blade and branch and distant glittering eye
a wayless path goes winding forth behind the roving trees
waving leaves above the wanderer
whispering secrets to the breeze
they speak of wind and rain and snow
of broken hearts and shattered stone
of beast of bird of reaching weeds
of ancient ponds and breathing reeds
of clover patches torn and tossed
of mournful cries forever lost
and watchful traveler I
beneath a violet sky
