Lost Hope
Her untamed curls tangling in the wind
Her eyes, like sad emeralds, sparkling with hope
Her thin body starving like a beauty in bones
She watches
Hoping not her
Hoping not him
Hoping for freedom
Hoping she’ll still be with her love
The shot echoes around the camp
All her hope disappears with anguish
Tears begin to fall
From her pale lightly freckled face
As she screams silently
Her heart feels like it’s the one that’s been shot
She knows hope just died
It all ends now.
