As Beautiful As You
She doesn’t know what to say
All she wants is to make it through the day
To be like the magazines
To be a teenage beauty queen
It’s the life that she chose
Yet she never really wanted to walk along this road
To be passable at most
Judged against those who’d do anything to boast
Crying in her chair
Searching for what she thinks is not there
To be beautiful at most
Now she’s beautifully alone
What she does not yet know,
Is what's always been there.
In her lips, eyes, smile and hair
Nothing in the world could be
As beautiful as you are to me
