Slumber Parties
I remember slumber parties
Bundled up in Disney Princess sleeping bags
With our tiny footie pajamas on
Manicures and pedicures
With a color on each nail
Playing dress up
Feeling so elegant in our plastic heels
An attempt to make popcorn
But making the whole house smell burnt
Huddling together with our pillows and blankets
Because “The Wizard of Oz” got too scary
Chatting about cute boys in school
How Jimmy let you cut him in line so he must like you
Getting to bed at eleven
Because that was all we could handle
