That night, the evening stars fell down on us like God was
crying tears
For the sake of humanity, I put my arms up, wanting to grasp
a bit of light in my small hands,
but the stars melted before I could wholly touch them.
Like sand sifting through my fingers, they melted into the
evening air,
galvanizing our breaths with fresh electrical currents
energy rushing at the speed of light into our infinitesimal
bodies
and I felt my head open and implode,
my eyes releasing bucket-sized tears in the form of
cathartic wonder.
