Assassin
Your eyes are hidden behind your sunglasses,
Because you are sly
Your smile is crooked but placid nonetheless
And your nostrils flare in indignation
Your breath comes out in a white sheet,
Overcome, overturned by the white sleet
Tanks of hail patter on the roofs
And you rub your black-gloved hands together
So sly, so wily …
You tell the girls what they want to hear,
You tell me what I want to hear
You take down their security,
You break down my walls,
And build up my trust just to break it,
Just to revoke it again,
And wisp off into the unspoken night,
Leaving no trail.

"Why is Jesus holding a machine gun?"<br /> "Maybe it's part of his therapy."
very nice use of a conceit there (although this is far from metaphysical poetry, but...)
it's too bad that there's too many guys like this out there nowadays.
