Looking at the photograph of a dead boy is like seeing an eclipse
It’s wrong
The sun shines brighter than the moon
So why does the moon still reach so far
It should never happen
And a child should never die
His face so clear, high resolution captures his face
Can you speculate his thoughts?
What did he want to become?
Who would he have been?
The questions blur with the grief and its torturous to see his smile
His unsuspecting face
Days ago it was his loud obnoxious voice
His bratty behavior
And now its all gone
He‘s left a fleshy husk
It resembles him but he’s gone
Dead boy
It sounds so harsh
Dead
One syllable beginning and ending with constants
It sounds so hard
Dead
How do you describe a human being as
Dead
It doesn’t go away
It doesn’t sound any better
And he won’t come back
It not real
He was here only a while a go
Now he’s left a hole and it sucks in everyone
Pulling them in
Grief binds them together
Mommas going mad
And his brothers in the ICU
Who could this boy have been?
This photograph captures a time
When he was so much more than
Dead

This is one more poem i've written about shohab, i didnt know him that well but i think this is how i grieve. I'm bad with emotions ecspecially those involving loss. BEfore my mother told me Shohab was dead i was reading a book, i came down for a snack and my mom told me. WHne i came back up it felt innappropriate to go back to reading. I cried a few tears and said a prayer. After that i did'nt know what to do, so i wrote. ANd when i write soemthign i think is good i'll stop an ill keep on readign my book.
