Do the dead walk lonely roads?
Do they see specters of the past?
Does one little boy dead on impact
Meet the generals and kings of legend?
One little boy who never got to live
One who we all expected to see in only a few short moths
Does he have company for his empty path?
Where does he go without his mother to hold his hand?
Who does he walk by without his brother?
Are the other realms safe?
Will he be happy?
Why can an innocent child die
But not a criminal?
Is it wrong say that?
I want him back
I want to pull him from that empty road and back into my world
I want to see him this summer like he promised
I want more than empty dreams
To see the man he would have become
Condolences don’t do more than remind you of your loss
The photographs of his smiling face
They seem isolated on that mantle
I had hope to fill them with more photos as I watched him grow
But now he left me to walk his own road
The toy on the ground
The snacks in the pantry
They remind me of so much
The thought of going into his room makes me want to scream
Will he be okay without his things?
Without his mother?
How can he have left to walk down that empty path?
