bright white light
through dusty window panes
squinting eyes
high beige walls beckon to her
empty silence
pitter pattering into nothing
stomach clenches
adrenaline pumping through her
dog barking
waiting for someone to approach
head turns
desperation coursing through her
footsteps echo
moving towards their target
rapid breathing
shadowy figure marches through her
the backdrop fades.
