A letter to my
Father.
I yearn to hear your
Voice,
To feel your
Face,
To see your
Smile.

I walk down
The streets.
Have I seen
You?
Have you seen
Me?

You never witnessed
My first breath,
My first words,
My first steps.
Do you even
Care?

Was I not
Good enough?
Not smart enough?
Not pretty enough?

You won’t be there
At my father-daughter dance,
To walk me down the aisle,
To see your grandchildren.
And for that,
I hate you.

I know that
I’m the better one,
The smarter one.
You're not worth my
Tears.
I’ll be more of
A man than you’ll
Ever be.
And I’m a girl.

A part of me
Still wants more.
My hunger,
My thirst
Can’t be fulfilled
Without you.
Closure.

How can I miss
Something
That I've never even
Known?
You've stolen my
Heart.
Is that
Possible?

I guess it's a
Natural instinct.
To love what
Hurts.
You learn to
Forgive,
But never
Forget.

Do you think of
Me?
Is it too
Late?
A letter to my
Father.
Are you listening?
