I remember the days in the neighborhood
With the friends I grew up with
The days of knights and princesses
Of magic and adventure
Where the most important thing was to stay young as long as humanly possible
The goal was to have fun and make the days last
By filling them with smiles and laughter
And occasionally petty arguments
Although we knew they couldn’t last forever
Because as we draw closer to adulthood
The days of our childhood fade away
And the fun times we had become memories
Some of them disappearing completely
Though the ones we remember we’ll treasure forever
But life will go on because even though childhood is over
There are plenty of new things to experience
As we age into the adults we are bound to become
