"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."- Franklin Delano Roosevelt

So you thought you might like to pick up
The Rose With Thorns
The beauty is so appealing
But waiting are its hidden horns
That will make you bleed
From your unsuspecting finger
A punishment of foolish greed
That only releases anger

But as you will see
The rose can drive a man insane
As he tries to release her from her stem
And thaen comes the rain
That ruins the priceless gem

------------

Well, I'm thirteen years of age
Living in a cage
Filled with desolation and grief

All my teachers love me
But my peers can't see
That I have turned a new leaf

Now, I'm not a 4.0
But my grades aren't low
They just aren't what they could be

But my worst enemies are
At the head of the class
So no one cares, no one even looks at me

They think I'm a genius
But they can't understand
All the envy I have inside

They think I am blessed
With wit and wisdom
But I have so much hate to hide

For everyoe who has it together
For everyone who has the tools
To succeed and excel

And I have none at all
But no one hears my calls
To help me up, for I have fell

This is the first part of an epic poem I wrote, called The Rose With Thorns. I mentioned this in the comments page of my poem "The Day", which is part of this poem.
