The Lie

People talk crap, life’s just that way
But when I hear it coming from you, I just don’t know what to say
You talk about me, tell me why?
Is this revenge, or just a lie?
I lie protecting you from how you really feel
Or was our past never really real?
Are the memories in my head all fake?
Please tell me, I don’t know how much more I can take
I want to tell you that you mean nothing to me now
But the truth is I just don’t know how.
I wish I could say this is the last poem I write that involves you
Yea right, like if that will ever come true.
