Not the One
You were perfect
You were the one
Had the perfect look
With that perfect smirk
That bad boy image
But not a single bad bone
Another night out with friends
Another you waltzing in
Happy as could be
Thought you had your eye on me
Your eye on my best friend
She had another guy in her head
You were in mine
As the night went on
My visions of you and I began to fade
Facing the harsh reality
That again
It’s not me
It’s never me
I don’t know why
I ask the same question every time
Why doesn’t he like me
I don’t know
Is it my appearance
Or not enough perseverance
Why isn’t it“you look amazing”
Instead of “nice to meet you”
Why is it never me
Look back in the mirror and try to see
What piece is missing
Is it you or is it me
