my long nightmare

when my eyes finally close at night
i can just feel the hate we have to fight.
you want to hate me because i am free.
but when you hold me i can tell you need me.
in my dreams you stand real close to my side.
how upset are you that the old me died.
oh can you see how much i need you.
i am glad to see you need me to.
my eyes finally fly open
and i just keep hoping.
that soon you will take me away from here.
and hoping i don't lose you, that's my biggest fear.
