Our Time
Every generation has its depression,
A time where everything is hard.
 Every generation has its war.
When care is gone, all sweet regard.
Our youth has had our own war
Our very own kind of war.

 A spiritual war is ours

 With no firearms or gore.
A war of beliefs and territory,
 With every country fighting themselves.
 Where everyone is biased,
And all of us remain enemies to ourselves.

Our people have had our own depression,

But this time it’s how we live our life.

The lives making many hate living.

Making many wait for death to arrive.
 Our depression we have caused,
It’s our fault, we are to blame.
 We worsened each other’s lives
Burning all joy, burned by a flame.

All the Great Wars in the past,

    All of histories depressions.

   Were, at some point, ended,

But things were given up, loves and possessions.
Maybe that’s how we have to survive,
to make a sacrifice for the world.
Could it be that’s the only way,
To sacrifice for how time might be unfurled

Maybe we should try it at least

To maybe give the next decade a chance

And to give reason to those who died, for us

So let us try to solve an issue while not in

  fighting stance
If we can’t at least do that much
We might as well be a gone species
All other animals know how to negotiate
Yet we are only willing when, behind us, stand armies
