The Reclusive Heart
It takes a while for me to open up to someone.
But when I do, I’m putting my heart and happiness on the line.
It seems every time I open the many secured gates to my heart, the strong passion that is kept hidden inside is tossed aside and forgotten or ignored.
Yet my friends and strangers wonder why I’m so reclusive.
I try many times to open up and reveal how I feel,
but people apparently think nothing of it.
My whole life has been one lonely day.
The only thing that keeps me going is the small spark of hope that someday I’ll find someone who actually gives a damn about me.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t be standing here right now.
