Daydreaming
Staring
at the jumble
of nail polish
that lay
on my desk
beside a pile of books,
My thoughts,
slowly drift
to the beaches
so far away.
The sound of waves
echoes through my head.
The warmth of the sun
burns my skin.
The smell of salt
lurks in my hair.
Slowly,
snow begins to fall
from the sky,
turning the ocean
into ice,
and the sand
into snow.
As time passes by
I don't even realize
what lay
on the pages of my book.
Swirls
of
yellow,
purple,
pink,
green,
blue,
red,
orange
and any color
you can imagine,
lay in place
of the words
that filled
the pages of my book
of my book.
