What Everyone Else Sees
You are who you are
You’re invincible
You don’t care what others say
You exceed expectations
You’re smart beyond your years
Yet you can’t see what everyone else may
Everyone else
Can see my feelings
And what they see it true
I’m in love
With a boy
Who doesn’t have a clue
I try to hide it
But it doesn’t work out
All of them can see
But who truly matters most
Hasn’t thought about
Being with me
When my bestie asks you
About us
You try to explain,
“All we are is friends.”
I try not to cry
But it’s too much pain
I try to convince
Myself that maybe
In a few years
You’ll finally see
You’ll love me back
And I won’t have to shed more tears
That’s all I can do
I wish and hope
That someday soon
You will see what
Everyone else sees
And you’ll love me through and through
