Cracks in the Ceiling
Cracks in the ceiling
 Holes in the floor
 Broken remains of feeling
 Slams of the door

 Lonely and afraid
 Nobody to hold
 Her emotions she betrayed
 Now watch her unfold

 Fragments of her mind
 Pieces of her soul
The missing parts she wishes to find
 To make herself whole

Thoughts seen by the naked eye
 Nowhere to hide
 No strength to deny
What will she do when her world collides?

 Like tacks on a board
 Needle to the arm
 The electrocuting cord
  One by one, disarm

 Not time to quit
 Not time to give in
 To your life commit
 This time with thicker skin

 Looking ahead
 Don’t second guess
 Live today instead
 No more tears to confess

 Behold a new life
 Walk forward, move on
 Through all the strife
 Leave behind the forgone
