A More Innocent Age
There was a time where the truth was held in high regard
And promises were not given so freely, nor broken so easily
There was an age where most men believed
Hurting someone smaller than you was insulting
In this age, honor was abundant, not extinct
There was a time when the world was innocent and young
When curiosity, strength of mind, and determination
Decided a person’s future
There was a more innocent age
Long ago forgotten
Could it still exist?
Or are the modern, shielded feelings of honor and integrity
Brittle, fragile shells of the past
Fine looking, but with nothing inside
This is an age of many faces
Of technology and discovery
And of power and wealth
This is a time progress and ambition
But there was a more innocent age
When time stood still
